N2  - Introduction: The Council of Academic Family Medicine (CAFM) Educational Research Alliance (CERA) produces a program directors survey in accordance with the organization’s mission to advance educational research in academic family medicine. The survey comprises questions submitted by members of CAFM-associated organizations. The spring 2026 Program Director Survey question submissions underwent peer review using a new scoring rubric aimed at identifying high-quality questions for inclusion.Methods: Of the 18 submissions, five proposals were accepted and included in the omnibus survey. The survey included questions, revised via a peer review process, by these five research teams and their CERA mentors, as well as standard demographic questions. The sample included all family medicine residency program directors identified through the CAFM member database and previous CERA surveys. CERA administered the survey from April 28, 2026 to June 5, 2026. Sample representativeness was assessed using the Chi-squared and Fisher exact test as needed.Results: Under the new rubric, accepted proposals consistently scored in a well-defined, high-quality band that was clearly separated from the overall pool of submissions. The response rate for the survey was 36.7% (262/714), and the demographics of the responses did not significantly differ from the demographics of possible respondents provided by the Association of Family Medicine Residency Directors.Conclusion: The CERA Program Director Survey continues to be a source of representative survey data for family medicine education research. A full-item analysis of the new rubric is in progress.
