This cover photo was taken while looking up inside at the ceiling of a rondavel, a traditional grass-thatched house in Lesotho, a mountainous country located in Southern Africa. Lesotho has a severe shortage of health professionals and does not have a medical school. However, due to decades-long international partnerships including with Boston University, it provides postgraduate training for family physicians. Like contributions from partners to build global family medicine networks, the posts of a rondavel are carefully prepared, coordinated, and integrated with local materials to create strong, long-lasting structures.
