Medical school tests taught me to see patients as multiple-choice problems: A, B, C, or D.

Clerkships taught me to see patients as illness scripts: CC, SOAP, and DDx.

Mentorship taught me to see patients as people with complex lives beyond illness: John and Sarah, artists and engineers, friends.

My training taught me medicine.

My mentor taught me to heal.
